Office of the Director

The Office of the Director is mandated to provide strategic guidance on implementation, management, administration of technical and administrative aspects of the City. The Sections under the Department include the Office of the Deputy Director(s), Public Relations and Communications Unit and Internal Audit Unit. The functions of the Department are to: 

  • Enforce adherence and compliance with ordinances and bye-laws made by the City and its lower councils.
  • Provide technical advisory services to the Mayor on Government policy and management of the City.
  •  Provide leadership, monitor and coordinate the activities of the departments and the lower local Governments.
  • Promote trade, manage public funds and account for the City business and resources.
  •  Prepare and present the City annual budget. 
  • Review, monitor and oversee the delivery of quality services to the population within the City.
  •  Plan and monitor the physical planning and development control in the urban councils.
  •  Act as the chief custodian of the City’s assets and information.
