Agricultural production is the leading source of livelihood in Fort Portal. The City Administration provides several services to guarantee improved production and creation of markets for agricultural products. These services include;

• Vaccination services provided to farmers. 
• Training on Safe use of agro chemicals. 
• On farm visits where advisory services are provided.
• Monitoring and mentoring of Operation for Wealth Creation (OWC) beneficiaries. 
• Setting up demonstration gardens. 
• Training farmers on appropriate farming techniques /introduction of high breeds to farmers which supports commercial farming. 
• Management of stray animals. 
• Removal of the dead animals from the main roads/streets
