Central Division sits at the heart of Fort Portal City, formed by merging the former South, West, and East divisions of the old Fort Portal Municipality, along with Ibaale Parish carved out of Busoro Sub-county. As the city’s traditional core, Central Division hosts the town’s main commercial, administrative, and cultural activity, including the Central Business District and the seat of the Tooro Kingdom.
Together with North Division, Fort Portal City spans 22 wards and 206 villages, with a combined population projected at over 146,000 across roughly 120 square kilometres.
