The Gender and Social Development Department is led by the City Community Development Officer, whose office champions the interests of Fort Portal’s diverse community groups, with particular focus on the vulnerable, children, women, and persons with disabilities. The department works to unlock the potential within these groups for meaningful, lasting development, while rallying citizens together in the spirit of community service.
