What This Department Handles
- Recruiting, placing, and confirming staff across City departments in line with approved structures and establishment
- Maintaining accurate staff records, personnel files, and the City’s payroll data
- Coordinating staff training, capacity building, and professional development programs
- Managing staff performance appraisal systems and supporting departments in setting clear performance targets
- Handling staff welfare matters, including leave management, medical support, and pension processing
- Advising City leadership on human resource policy, labour law compliance, and best practice
- Managing staff discipline, grievance handling, and conflict resolution processes
- Coordinating staff promotions, transfers, and confirmations in line with Public Service guidelines
- Overseeing job evaluation and organizational structure reviews
- Promoting a healthy, motivated, and productive work environment across the City workforce
